U.K.-based BHIS announced a new software tool that lets users scan documents and e-mail them as PDF attachments.
The $25 tool does not require Acrobat and works with most major scanners, including Twain or WIA, as well as most major e-mail software, including Outlook and Outlook Express, the company said.
With Scan2Email, users can scan a single or multi-page document, save it as a PDF, attach it to an e-mail or view and print it. It uses compression, and the company said the size of a typical PDF document, scanned at 200 dpi (equivalent to "fine" fax mode) in black and white, is only about 30K bytes.
