 About the size of a paperback book, the Rocket eBook is the most popular dedicated ebook device, with tens of thousands of them sold. The device was designed by Nuvomedia specifically for reading, coming with none of the typical PDA software such as calenders, address books and the like.
You read on the device much as you would a paper book. Make margin notes, underline special passages, and bookmark pages.
The Rocket eBook is no longer manufactured. Its maker, Nuvomedia, was acquired by Gemstar eBook Group. RCA, through a licensing deal with Gemstar, now manufacture an ebook device called the REB 1100, which many consider to be the successor to the Rocket eBook.
